Auction: FINE ART & ANTIQUES, 11th Sep, 2024

Our New Season Fine Art & Antiques sale showcases the exceptional contents of two distinguished deceased estates from Chertsey, Surrey, and Hamsterley, County Durham. Notable highlights include Lot 381, a set of twelve George III silver dinner plates by John Wakelin & William Taylor, London, 1785, and a late 17th-Century walnut marquetry longcase clock, signed Jonathan Jones, London. The Jewellery section presents a selection of exquisite pieces from these estates, including a highly sought-after natural pearl and diamond brooch. In the Objects of Vertu section, Lot 412 stands out—a late 18th-Century gold-mounted abalone shell and lacquered snuff box, the lid inset with a micromosaic scene attributed to Gioacchino Barberi (Italian, 1783-1857).
