Auction: FINE ART & ANTIQUES, 27th Aug, 2025
Our forthcoming Fine Art & Antiques sale presents an exceptional and varied selection spanning decorative arts, silver, jewellery, fine art, and collectors’ items.
Highlights include an outstanding group of Arts and Crafts metalwork designed by Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co., alongside rare sentimental Georgian “lover’s eye” jewellery, Victorian jet mourning pieces, and a strong offering of diamond, emerald, sapphire and other gem-set rings.
Silver enthusiasts will find an array of rarities, from a York-made pair of George IV wine coasters and Victorian novelty table lighters to fine colonial and Persian pieces, including an important early 20th Century Indian silver casket. The decorative arts section features Lalique glass, Emile Gallé cameo glass, South Staffordshire enamels, micromosaics, and novelty snuff boxes.
Paintings and works on paper range from Old Masters and 19th Century continental scenes to modern British art, with names including Myles Birket Foster, William Tatton Winter, and contemporary works by Jaume Plensa. Sculptures and objets d’art are equally enticing, from Black Forest carvings to bronzes after Barye and Koons.
Collectors will also enjoy a diverse mix of curiosities — from a Korean diving helmet and oversized Victorian coachman’s knife to ormolu-mounted marble torchères and period mirrors — making this a sale with something for every taste and interest.
