With over thirty years’ experience in the watch industry, Nick is ideally placed to advise Elstob Auctioneers’ clients in this specialist field. He first moved to the North East in 1989 to take up a management role with Northern Goldsmiths, later becoming General Manager of the flagship Blackett Street store in Newcastle. A holder of the Retail Jewellers Diploma from the National Association of Jewellers, Nick has detailed working knowledge of leading watch brands including Rolex, Omega, Breitling, TAG Heuer, Cartier and Longines.
Today, he works as an independent sales manager for several European watch manufacturers, including Michel Herbelin (France), Bruno Söhnle (Germany), Dietrich (Switzerland) and Gagá (Italy).
Outside the world of watches, Nick is equally passionate about football. He has served as Football Secretary for York City FC and was part of the London 2012 Olympics team, hosting matches at St James’ Park, Newcastle.
