With more than fifteen years’ experience at Sotheby’s, Bonhams and Lyon & Turnbull, Rohan brings extensive knowledge of the art and auction world. He grew up surrounded by art, which fostered a lifelong passion for paintings, drawings and sculpture, before going on to study Archaeology at Newcastle University. His expertise now spans British and European art, Old Masters and portraiture across all eras.
Rohan is well known for uncovering “sleepers” — undervalued works that have been overlooked or misattributed. His discoveries include paintings by Rubens, Edvard Munch and other major artists from the 15th to 21st centuries. Over the years, he has built strong relationships with private collectors, leading art dealers and corporate curators who regularly buy and sell through him.
What Rohan enjoys most is guiding clients through the auction process, from valuation and advice to successful sales, while sharing the fascinating histories behind the objects entrusted to him.
